Crafting your bouquet
Shipping & Delivery

From workshop to doorstep, transparently.

How a Bloom order moves through the system, what each status means, and where to find live updates. Logistics are simulated for the capstone. The workflow modelled here matches the one a production deployment would follow.

Service area

Where we model deliveries

The order pipeline assumes service inside Metro Lipa with optional extended same-day windows. Production-style rate cards are seeded for evaluation.

Order lifecycle

Five states, one timeline

The status machine is enforced server-side. The tracker page subscribes to a Socket.IO room scoped to your order and updates in real time as each transition fires.

  1. 01
    Placed
Order is persisted, payment confirmation is verified, and the customer-facing tracker becomes available. A confirmation email is sent to the address on the order.
  2. 02
    In florist hands
The arrangement is built by the florist. For 3D customizer orders, the saved configuration is rendered as a printable spec sheet that travels with the bouquet.
  3. 03
    Out for delivery
A courier picks up the package and the tracker shows the assigned window. Contact-on-arrival messages can be enabled at checkout.
  4. 04
    Handed off
The recipient signs or confirms receipt. A photo confirmation is attached when permitted by the recipient.
  5. 05
    Closed
The order moves to the closed state. A short feedback survey is offered and the order remains accessible in your profile archive.

FAQ

Questions we hear most

What happens if no one is home?
The courier attempts a contact-on-arrival message first. If there's no response, the package is held for a second attempt at no extra charge. After two attempts it returns to the workshop and we coordinate via email.
Can I change the delivery address after checkout?
Yes, until the order enters status 03 for delivery. Open the order in your profile and request a change. The request is logged in the order history.
Do you ship outside the listed areas?
Not as part of the capstone simulation. The platform is structured to add new service polygons via the admin dashboard; we'd extend coverage before any real-world deployment.
How is the live tracker different from a status page?
The tracker subscribes to a Socket.IO room and pushes status updates instantly when the server-side state machine transitions. No refresh required.
Academic context

This is a capstone technical demonstration. No physical flowers are shipped and the courier handoff is simulated. The shipping logic, state machine, and tracker are real. The goods and routes are not.
